To state my strengths with regard to inquiry and technology will be very short, I'm willing to learn as much as possible as my experience is none. Being in the secondary phys-ed stream I have no experience using inquiry in my placements, not that I don't want to but it was just never done and usually frowned upon by teachers I've been working with. I'm not sure exactly how it would fit into phys-ed but I'm sure there is a way, which I would like to find out. Not that I'm stuck like glue to phys-ed, I actually hope to teach science or biology as well since my schooling and my work as a paramedic for the last 10 years would apply to this subject nicely. As well my strengths in technology are quite limited, but I can say as a strength that when I want to do something I put a lot of energy into doing it so I think I will be able to learn a lot in this course.
My learning needs will be quite extensive, but I think when pointed in the right direction I'm able to learn and figure things out and probably learn to take it further on my own.
I'm very interested in educational technology because I think this is the key to education in the future. I can see how my two kids are very engaged in computers, IPODs, WII, and anything else that is computer like and feel that I need to be able to use that interest and include it in my teaching to keep pace with our children in schools today.
Some topics that I would be interested in are: incorporating technology in phys-ed, media and digital literacy, assessment and technology, making productive lessons with technology.
